Oral Communication Skills

Task

Throughout my university experience I have always had a part time job. Balancing work and school has really helped me practice and successfully improve my Oral communication Skills.  In capsim it is evident that all tasks must be communicated effectively when making decisions for the year.

 

Situation

A situation that had led me to lack in my communication skills was when making decisions for the simulation. I was definitely more passive during this process, when I should have voiced my opinion more often.  I had agreed to the idea of each group member researching one particular product, compared to researching all products collectively. This definitely led to a lack of communication and caused me to become more closed off. 

 

Action

In this situation it caused the slio’d effect and my action to not communicate effectively definitely caused a lost opportunity in our first year. My action to not use my communication skills as effectively in this first year showed me the importance of this skill and how it can make a huge impact on the over all success of your business.

 

Result

The end result from me not effectively orally communicating could have lead to the reason why over production occurred and why we accumulated such a high emergency loan in our first year. Moving forward I have learned that the ability to communicate information correctly, clearly and as anticipated, is a very important life skill and something that should not be ignored.
